The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in partnership with Beyond Zero has announced the Beyond Zero Scholarship for a Certificate course in Community Health Nursing starting in March 2024 for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The KMTC Scholarship is a program that aims to provide learning opportunities for students who wish to enroll in a Certificate course in Community Health Nursing at KMTC. The scholarship is supported by Beyond Zero, an initiative that seeks to enhance maternal and child health in Kenya. The scholarship targets eligible candidates from selected Arid and Semi-Arid (ASAL) counties, under-served Minorities and other Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups (VMGs) who are committed to serve in their communities after graduation.
The scholarship covers the full tuition fees and other costs for the duration of the course, which is 2½ years.
According to Kelly Oluoch, eligible candidates from the selected ASAL counties, under-served minorities and other VMGs will be given priority. He strongly encourages female candidates to apply for the scholarship, noting that successful applicants will receive full scholarship for the entire course.
The KMTC scholarship will be offered at KMTC’s campuses in Kapenguria, Kabarnet, Bomet, Loitoktok, Garissa, Kilifi, Kitui, and Msambweni. The course will last for 2 years.
KMTC scholarship 2024 Requirements
- Candidates should have a KCSE Mean Grade of C- or equivalent qualifications, a C- in English or Kiswahili, a C- in Biology and a D+ in either Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
- Applicants are expected to attach a handwritten essay of not more than 200 words explaining why they deserve the scholarship.
